BIO

October Swimmer is a British multi-instrumentalist, producer and composer. Influenced by artists such as Radiohead, Massive Attack and DJ Shadow as well as composers Albinoni, Barber and Taverner; October Swimmer establishes a sonically authentic landscape which is immediately accessible. Formerly a session and touring musician, “his music demonstrates an adroit understanding of melody, harmonic structure and finessed production which sets him apart from his contemporaries.”
Self-taught at the age of 12 and restlessly ambitious; October Swimmer would be offered his first session job as a guitarist by Mick Jones (The Clash) at age 17 and spend the next 8 years in recording studios. Impressed by his talents, producer Myles Clarke (The Who, Natalie Imbruglia) would frequently recruit the young musician to collaborate on and co-produce projects at Pete Townshend's studio, Grand Cru. This period afforded him not only extensive experience as a recording and touring musician, but also the opportunity to practice music production and independently navigate a recording studio. Other notable collaborations during this period include recording with Steve Brown (Laura Mvula, Rumer) and Richard Causon (Ryan Adams, Ethan Johns.)
With a renewed appetite at the age of 24 and disenchanted by the limitations of being a session musician, October Swimmer tasked himself with learning a myriad of instruments and developing himself as a producer and songwriter. Keen to exercise his talents, he would spend the forthcoming 6 years independently discovering and developing young songwriters and refining his multi-disciplinary craft, all the while fashioning a sound which is exclusively his.

In 2022, his original composition, Down to Zero (feat. Nancy Salt) was used in the Netflix series The Winx Saga and hailed by A&R Factory as “cinematic to the core and made with a world class atmosphere.”

October Swimmer has manifested a resolute work ethic which has culminated in a producer, songwriter and composer of accomplished ability. A wholesale and visionary musician, he is able to provide an ambience to underscore the auditory and visual experience.

October Swimmer will release his next EP, Chemical in Spring 2025.
